June 2008:  EOSF's Country Store re-establishes itself as a force in Animal Health Products.  Customers are encouraged to speak to our two SQP staff for an unbeatable combination of value and service.

May 2008:  New picture to advertise Country Store.  We think this photo really does say a thousand words - how else can we convey the huge range of products available in our store?

April 2008:  Peter A A Grewar is co-opted to the Board of Directors.

December 2007: New Country Store opens its doors for the first time, providing a much wider range of goods in a modern environment.

June 2007: MALTING BARLEY SUPPLY CHAIN VISIT.  Eighteen members enjoyed a trip to Aberfeldy Distillery courtesy of Greencore Malt and John Dewar & Sons on 12th June.  Presentations from EOSF, Greencore and Dewars highlighted a positive future for malting barley, malt and Scotch whisky with growing demand leading to firm prices.

May 2007:  A very informative crop packaging clinic was held at EOSF on 9th May.  Around 20-25 members heard a presentation from Lloyd Dawson of BPI, makers of top-selling bale wrap, Silotite.  Lloyd then demonstrated the theory, making use of EOSF's own wrapper.  Also in attendance was Judith Clayton from additive manufacturer Ecosyl, who are supplying product through EOSF for the first time.

As members of United Farmers, EOSF is part of one of the biggest buying groups for silage wrap and bale netting in Europe.  We have new suppliers and keen deals this year - speak to Rab Lawson for details.  Download a product information list from the Country Store Section.

April 2007: Ag-chem Alert.  Approvals for a number of active ingredients are being altered or withdrawn in the year ahead.  Growers must be careful that they do not carry excess stock of those products affected.  Product Approval Information Sheet (pdf)

March 2007: New shop planned at EOSF!  Plans are being drawn up for a new shop at EOSF, which will (subject to planning permission) be constructed in the autumn.  This will allow more product lines, better display, more efficient check-out, and independent operating hours for the shop.

February 2007: EOSF and Agrovista have entered into an agreement whereby Agrovista will store chemicals at EOSF.  This has twin benefits for EOSF & members: firstly, it will increase the range and quantity of chemicals held in stock, and secondly, it will share the overhead costs of operating the store.

2006: Can grain be used to produce fuel efficiently? Read more about Robin Barron's fact-finding visit to Denmark. GRAIN: FUEL FOR THROUGHT (pdf)
