Purpose
|
This policy is a written commitment from EOSF about how it will ensure the health & safety of its workforce and site visitors.

HSE’s mission is to protect people's health and safety by ensuring risks in the changing workplace are properly controlled.

Main Practical Requirements
|
- The HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) technique has been used to identify hazards and ensure food safety.
- A quality system has been drawn up to monitor and control these hazards.
- The quality system ensures traceability of product, accurate information to customers, and is verified internally by staff from time to time.
- All incoming material is SQC Assured.
- The site, processing equipment, handling equipment, and delivery vehicles must be clean and well maintained.
- There are plans for inspection and cleaning, waste disposal, and glass protection.
- There is a written plan for pest control.
- Haulage complies with the AIC code of practice

EOSF Scheme
|
EOSF’s scheme complies with 2 codes of practice, produced by AIC. The first covers the merchanting, supply, storage and packaging of animal feed ingredients, and the second covers the supply of compound feeds.
The UFAS scheme also covers the manufacturing of compound feeds, but this is not applicable to EOSF.

- A quality system has been drawn up to monitor and control these hazards.
- The quality system ensures traceability of product, accurate information to customers, and is verified internally by staff from time to time.
- All incoming material is UFAS or SQC assured, and labelled as UFAS assured on sale.
- The site, processing equipment, handling equipment, and delivery vehicles must be clean and well maintained.
- There are plans for inspection and cleaning, waste disposal, and glass protection.
- There is a written plan for pest control.
- Weighing equipment is calibrated regularly.
- Stored materials are separate (from other feed types, and from any toxic substance) and identifiable.
- Expiry dates are monitored, and stock is rotated accordingly.
- Storage areas are clean, secure, and of the right temperature.
- Haulage complies with the AIC code of practice.
- Suitable trained personnel are responsible for the intake, processing, storage, sales and delivery of feeds and feed ingredients.
- Hygiene standards are complied with.
- Special conditions apply for liquid and moist feeds.
